As of today, 2nd February 2009 was our VC Keynote Address' Ceremony. It was held in UMP's Sports Complex. I believe each of you had attended the ceremony as it's compulsory to everyone in UMP. Now, let's see what did you get from his speech. So, your task is to:

i'm just can say that Vice Chancellor giving meanings of engineering, technology, and creativity. he also said that creative people have 8 characteristics, but i can only remember some of them, serious but still have sense of humor, need to be enthusiastic and don't afraid if someone criticize you. He also tell us the 4 things that can stop us from being creative which is your own attitude, others opinions, the other 2 i can't remember. those are the only things i can share with you.

Frankly speaking i did not pay full attention to his speech. But I still can memorize some of the content in his speech. First thing first, he did elaborate meaning of engineering, technology and creativity. Besides, he also talked about ways in practicing those three elements. As a conclusion he wanted to reform UMP based on the UMP's motto.

what the vice canselor told us is all about engineering,technology and creativity...but the main part is how UMP have to take actin..first about the valued based,strategy focused and our performance...second about a culture of excellent and last is substance over form....this is how to make UMO as a focused university..that all that i remembered..hihi

About yesterday speech, NC talked about the meaning of CREATIVITY, TECHNOLOGY and ENGINEERING, and we can make it to achieve an excellent university. Many things that need to us to concern. for example our spirit of working, cooperation with all UMP members, creative thinking, brave in giving new ideas and many more. Thus, what the most important thing is, all the UMP members need to do the paradigm change in order to make the NC keynote address become realities for our lovely UMP.That's all from me..Thank you!

Actually I'm not concentrate to the keynote that NC give... but i know he were talking about the motto of UMP that is CREATIVITY, TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING.. so i can conclude that he like the motto i guest.. hehehe.. and he want us, all the student to work harder to increase the name of UMP to the whole world.. that all..

About yesterday,I just get a few point from his speech.First,about UMP motto and meaning of it,that is Creativity,Technology and Engineering.secondly,NC want student UMP to work in order to bring UMP dignity and name to world wide....I forgot about others...that's all..
About the VC Keynote Address Ceremony,can i conclude that our VC want us to realize about UMP vision and mision. Then,he also explain to us the real meaning of ENGINEERING,TECHNOLOGY and CREATIVITY.So,we as the most important asset to this university must work together to make sure UMP can be the best university among the world in the future.

Frankly speaking,my concentration during the ceremony was not 100%.But,surely all of us know that he talked about ENGINEERING,TECHNOLOGY and CREATIVITY.All of these elements are very important for all UMP people.We must understand the meanings to be more succeed.
We must not afraid to change and take a risk.By doing so,maybe we can have more experiences and become excellent....

frankly speaking, im not focus on the speech that our VC give but several points or keynote that i can catch is he tell us about the ump's motto which is creativity, technology and engineering..
he tell us about what actually the meaning of those words..
and one more points that i understand is he motivated us to work harder to achieve a highest level...
to make ump become one of the best university in malaysia..em,or maybe word...

Speaking about the VC speech during that day was about the skills(I might say) for an engineer.As we know that this university is still new, we really hope that this becoming engineers which is us,are making this university moves forward to the same level with other university or even to the overseas level.
However, for me, this is not specifically for the students only.Everyone in this university needs to have their own responsibility.The lecturers, the management,students representatives,and even the guard.Sorry to say that I think the management needs to improve their skills on treating the students especially the FKASA unit.I'm not pointing to the lecturers but the workers in the office.Although they might think the students are asking them stupid question, but please make it professional.
We are learning to become excellent,so all of us have our responsibilities,That's all I can say.Thank you.

I’m not into listening a well-scripted speech by somebody at all. Thought it would be fake and just something to please our ears. However, with some oh-so-drastic changes that has been made by our vc esp. about the rules and his optimistic attitude, so I really excited to go there.
Actually i know nothing at all at first. Neither its title of "memaknakan....." nor the time; not to mention, the program tentative if i don't have any friend. so,im quite surprise when he could make our uni's motto as one of his K.Add.too amazed by his opinion on what we should do,and the most i love;his boldness to diminish some so-called taboo (rule) in this uni.
HE IS THE MAN,guys!
then he talked about stop the irrelevant rule,about a syoksendiri programme,about creativity (the factor that limit it/characteristic).the best part is when he speak out loud and clear about the rule,yes,the one that get a quite piercing applause.and I do agree with SUHANA about the staff,we are not pleaded respect so much,at least,just being human with us.u ignore us even we are standing in front of u for a long while,u ask us back with annoying tone when we are asking.and here the leader that will lead us toward respect and successful,perhaps.

About Vice Canselor speech, frankly speaking I'm only pay my attention at the beginning and after that..hehehe. But what I still can remember is he told us about the definition of three words which is UMP's motto. The three words are engineering,technology and creativity.
Besides that, the keynotes that I get from the speech is we have to improve our(staff, lecturers and student) skills and ability to achieve higher level for our beloved university and to make UMP is the best university in this world..hee~

the truth is...i didn't pay any attention at all...hiii...but i know that he talked about our UMP's motto and also some about our uni rules. Also, i do agree with Suhana about the staff.Eventhough not all the staff behave like that, but still i'm sure they also feel what we call as "tempias"...
i think that is all i can about our VC speech.

i h0pe it's n0t to0 late f0r me t0 c0mment as I’ve been extremely busy the last couple of weeks..s0rry2..hihi..
by the way,i didn't pay much attenti0n on what he said in fr0nt..so it was like 'fall on deaf ears'..hehe..his speech about more than 1 hour..sometimes,i did listen t0 him but i just can't remember that so well..he said something about 5s system to improve workplace organization and standardization in UMP..maybe..he had explain the definition of each word for the topic that related to our university which is Engineering,Technology and Creativity..and he said that some students and even staffs break rules..some staffs are not disciplined..and that will give a bad perception to our university..

actually, the VC keynote it was about a month ago. i'm quite busy with reports...and others. for me, VC keynote open my eyes to the university rules. there are too much rules that we had but every body feel burden to follow it.
like VC said "remeh-temeh".
from my point of view, we should focus on what we aim here to produce the high quality of engineers. according to the UMP's motto creativity, technology, engineering that the VC had said in his keynote...we should realize the meaning of the motto. so, we can be the best person not just a good person.

first of all, i apologized for posting this comment late. well, i am really busy with so many things lately... talking about VC keynote, i was not paying my full attention on it.
i actually did took some notes. The VC was explaining about the UMP's motto, ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY, CREATIVITY. In order to be an engineer, we must have this three important things. He also said that we must have strategy, commitment, and focus on excellence in order to be a world class university.

What our vice chancellor said about the real meaning of the UMP campus’s motto which is ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY and CREATIVITY. He also hopes that UMP at a par lever with the other university and be a focused university. He also said we almost take priority to the unimportant thing compared to the important thing. That’s all that I remember. As a students and also staffs of UMP, we need to find a way to increase UMP In the world. That’s all that I remember. Too sorry
