I disagree with TJ Walker about to ditch the builds in-built in the Power Point.I didn't see any problem if we press on the SPACE TAB after one slide.Furthermore, with current technology,we can show the next slides just by click on a portable mouse. So it is ok for us to use the "builds" in our Power Point. It is a convenient function and most of us are doing it.

Firstly,he look very funny when he imitating bird getting water. I not expected the small thing about using build in the power point can effect my presentation until I hear his speech. It also look like we are in nervous when we have to click the enter or next button all the times. It is not really efficient to use it in presentstion. But, he had mention that build can use for particular image to show it future development. So, the coclusion is, we can use it but for some types of presentation. Thank you.

I think it's OK for us to use this feature because for me it's is efficient way to make our presentation more attractive. Using this feature allows us to make the audience to fell the anxiousness of knowing what's going to come out next in our slide. This feature also enable the audience to focus on an sub-point and concentrate in it.

Power point is the best way to give a presentation and teaching. It make the audience easily to understand what are the speaker try and want to talk about. Some presenter will just click and read directly to the notes ,just like me.The audience will feel bored to listen to your presentation. It also no any meaningful to attend.

I think, press the SPACE BAR or click the MOUSE after 2 seconds is not a big problem for a presenter. It may looks funny but it is a usual thing the presenter will do.By the way,it is good if we can use the new things that can make the presenter looks very calm and the pesentation will go smoothly. The presenter does not has to press anything and just deliver the speech very well.

Dear Miss,
This video is about the build in powerpoint damage our presentation.Actually build just make we focus on the powerpoint only.We only depend on the words shown on the screen and lost our consentration and contact with audiences. For me,we must confidence with ourselves and dont only depend on the powerpoint...

This video is very funny and easier to understand. For me, the presenter is too over and excited when speech. The voice of presenter loud and clearly. Have a good eyes contact with audience and the body language that used are suitable. The audience can deliver the message. The presenter know and handle the programme very much.

BISMILLAH.. AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO, I WONT TOTALLY AGREE WITH TJ AND ALSO WONT TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH HIM. HE SAYS RIGHT WHEN TALK ABOUT THE BUILT. BY A CLICKING A SENTENCE WILL OUT AND ANOTHER CLICKING THERE IS ANOTHER OUT. YEA, WHAT A COMPLEX TASK TO DO IT. WASTING TIME AND THE SPEAKER NEED TO REPEATEDLY CLICKING THE MOUSE. HE ALSO SAID WHAT WE GET FROM USING BUILT IS ONLY KNOW HOW TO READ. ITS OK TO USE BUILT TO SHOW PARTICULAR IMAGE AND U NEED TO SHOW HOW THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT GO AROUND IT. YEA.. BUT I THINK ITS MUCH BETTER IF HE SUGGEST ANOTHER WAY FOR THE PRESENTER TO MAKE THE SLIDE BESIDE JUST ADVISING US TO AVOID USING BUILT. IN MY OPINION ITS OK TO USE BUILT AND IT IS BETTER THAN USING HYPERLINK BY OPENING NEW SLIDE AND THEN THE AUDIENCE WILL LOSS WITH THE POINT. AS THE MICROSOFT CREATE IT FOR US, MAKE USED OF IT. BUT PERHAPS THERE WILL BE A BETTER TECHNOLOGY TO REPLACE THE USES OF BUILT IN POWERPOINT PRESENTATION.

the presenter is telling us the disadvantage of using builds in power point...but i think that there are also advantage of builds in power point...so i think that we should use up the advantage of 1 thing but not the disadvantage of its...

In this video, we are told to ditch the builds. If not mistaken, the meaning of the build is to click for the next text to appear or to move on to another slide. It is indeed a waste of time to use the build. It can also distract the audiences' attention. However, TJ Walker did not suggest a few suggestions to improve the use of Power Point if we ditch the builds. I think perhaps we can time our slide show, but we have to make sure the accurate amount of time to use or else it will mess up the presentation too.

In the Microsoft Power Point, there are many animation that can put in the slide shows but is it the animation suitable for all kinds of people? The animation actually made for those people that easily get bored like children, for adults it is some kind of thing that make people annoying to see it. The animation look great if we present it in front of children because they like animation like the cartoon movie are made for them and some people that acting like a childish. The animation that prepared on the Microsoft doesn’t mean that we need to use that entire thing but for are few cases that need something interesting to catch audience attention. And if we put the animation it makes us as presented a bird or chicken that are eating something in front of people in order to shows the entire slide to shows off.

Alright, in this clip I kinda agree with TJ. First of all it’s a waste of time. We want our presentation to be short, compact and informative. Its kinda waste time to click and wait for the points to slowly appear in our screen. By using build, the audience cant get the overall picture on what we are saying. Why not we show all the relevant points on one slide so that the audience will be able to visualize on what we are saying. This helps the audience to understands our presentation better.

In the ditchbuilds video clip,I totally disagree when TJ Walker talked about some of disadvantages using build in Power Point. For me,presentation without the pictures or anything else although in one slide full with informative point, but it still not interesting and surely the audience will get bored and lost focus during presentation.Lastly,it's ok we take some time when using the build as long as the understand what we are going to tell and hopefullt it is meaningfull to audience.

I disagree what TJ said in the video clip. Using the builds is just okay and this will make our presentation more attractive/informative. For example,if we are talking about something very new (like new theories) that is abstract,or need a lot of understanding, we may ditch some builds, linking our current slide to another that can perform a clearer picture, to make the audiences understand/visualise what we are going to tell. Or, we can give some examples, data, evidences etc. in the builds. In my opinion, using builds in the PowerPoint slides is acceptable,by means of further explanations. But it will become distracting if we use the builds too frequent. Use it wisely.
Thank You.

When I hear T.J Walker, an speaking expert said the user PowerPoint is worst when he use ditchbuilds during PowerPoint presentation which is complicated and waste many our time. I agree about his opinion because the use ditchbuilds will show your weakness of presentation because you just push button to show the word than you talk it. Moreover, the use of it will not given any positive impact to audience because do not feel happy and boring because they just see one word or sentences came to fill the slide. Besides that, the use ditchbuilds will make your information or message is fail to accepted by them. So, i suggest that do not use ditchbuilds during PowerPoint presentation if you want a success presentation is happen.

One more video shown about power point. This TJ not said we cannot use the power point. But he said just use it wisely and don’t put too much ditchbuild. It will distract the presentation. Like i was agree to what Don macmillan said, i also agree with him. Don said, don’t put too much bullet. To me, it is same when you put too much ditchbuild. Both of it make u to press to the button too much. And both of it are the distractions. Too much press the button also will make you forgot what the important point you going to say. Maybe animation can be accepted. But more ditchbuild, is just a waste time. After a time to time, it will looks boring.

TJ said is not good to put too much build.I agree about the statement!this is because it can makes the presenter busy about the power point.Beside that, the audiences will feel bored when they see he always click to the mouse. It just waste time! no one will focus to the presenter. So, please avoid to put too much build.

Dineshkumar (ka09120) said...

I have a mindset just like TJ Walker.’ Built' in the power point system is not a necessary. Its full of wasting time. Furthermore during presentation the audience are busy in listen but the speaker busy in pressing enter key. A simple presentation also effective when the speaker is talented. We should not show our talent in 'built' but we must show our talent in presenting and make our audience fully satisfied with our idea.

For me having build in power point is okay but not to many build. Some of information cannot be shown once in a time an need to shown one by one. In this case, the using of build is important. But I agree that having to much build will distract our presentation. so just limit the us of build but doesn't mean not to use it at all.

Goh Mun Chun (KA09149)

In this video, the presenter say that ditch the build is not necessary.I do agree with it because it will only make the presentation time longer, waste of time and distracting.Furthermore, it's oso do not bring any positive impact to the audience, the audience may feel bore or not happy by just waiting for the speaker to press the button every two second. However, for some situation is acceptable when using the build.Example, putting some picture or animation can make the presentation more interesting. In conclusion, using of the build is only acceptable when putting the animation or picture but not the test.

I really agree with the tj walker. As the speaker,we must use the power point with a very good.We cannot only press down the button and read the power point but we must do one by one and the audiences will understand our messages claearly.A big mistake that always the speaker do during the presentation is press down the button and read it.....

Ditch the builds.I actually agree with the speaker that ditch the builds is a big mistakes and only waste the time.Actually by doing this, it does not impressing anyone.if necessary we only can show the image about the future development and so on.we must try to impressed the audience by elaborating the points and make it interesting and of course not by pressing the buttons...

If this video is recorded before the wireless mouse is created I will agree with the statement "the presenter will look like a bird deep down to getting water".However nowadays we have a sophisticated devices that can be functioned even the presenter is far from the computer, so that should not be a problem. Sometime to use build in power point presentation is necessary, but for the presentation that shown in the TJ Walker speech it is better to not used the build..The using of build is still depends on the contents. What important is the audiences get the points.

first and foremost i would like to say that is it all the speaker fully memorized all the content in his or her own speech all the time?..
i don't think so, as a normal people, we are normally would forget at least one word in a presenting our speech, so to me it is not fault if we we use a built in presenting our slides, in directly we can have a good audience attraction by clicking a next slides... this time i not agree on what tj said...

For me ditch the builds is only waste the times and make the presentation more crowded. It is difficult for a speaker to make a clear presentation and takes some time for a speaker to press the mouse.Sometimes it will makes the speaker to be nervous.

salam..i think i was agree with TJ Walker said about ditch the builds in power point.we do waste our time just to click the mouse to drop the points.why not just drop all points in one click.for example when lecturer use this type of skills, it will make student to wait the other point to take a notes.it can be considered when we put some particular image, visual and video.thank you.

sparthiban (KA09151) said...

I disagree with T J Walker's opinion about the ditch the builds in power point. I think people will like us if we do the different thing from others. So, simply put all the points at the same time will make the people bored. If we put the points one by one, the audience will pay attention at all the time. If we put all the points at one time, the audience will read once overoll and then wont pay attention anymore.

faiz m yatim(KA09164) said...

This video is about to explain how to use a power point. Do not use hyperlink because it will make the audience disturbed. By using this method, it also wasting your time because you need to click it many time to show the slide. So this is the cause why the audience lost their attention and focus and finally they got nothing from your speech.

In this video,TJ Walker advise us to ditch the builds. I am agree with his point, that is built sometimes is wasting time. However, built also not nessary waste too much time because with technology today, builts can be appear just in a moment.Wasting time or not actually is depending on the speaker. If he is talented to do a good powerpoint, I think that his powerpoint will be one of the important part for his wonderful presentation.
